Nuxe Top Picks from Karen Constantine
Nuxe is a favourite of ours at Meaghers and we were so delighted to have Karen Constantine (@lovelygirlybits) take us through the brand and her top picks!
Who else has been turning to self care over the last few months? I feel like because I have a bit more extra time now, I’m making an effort to use my lovely products, the products that bring me joy and that encourage me to switch off, unplug and have me time. I’ve loved Nuxe as a brand for years now and I’m delighted to talk you through just some of my favourites, my go-to products and the ones that are always in my collection, ready to treat my skin!
The iconic Huile Prodigieuse from Nuxe was born in 1991, like myself… *ahem* But if you’re new to Nuxe, it’s such a good product to start your journey with the brand! All of the dry oils are multifunctional and can be used to nourish, repair and soften the skin and hair.
The original Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi Usage Dry Oil has The Scent. I’m capitalising those words because if you’re wearing this, everyone will recognise the fragrance. It’s what Nuxe is famous for and with the seven precious botanical oils, it’s such a real treat to use. I like spritzing it over damp skin after my shower, allowing it to quickly absorb, and I also love adding a small amount to the palms of my hands and working it into the ends of my hair. But it doesn’t stop there. It can be used on the face and you can mix it in with your face or body cream, you can work it into your nails and cuticles and it helps to reduce the appearance of stretch marks too.
The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or is summery, shimmery, perfection. This makes your skin glow thanks to the pearly mineral particles and I love applying it onto my shoulders, legs, arms and even my cheekbones in the summer. This and golden hour in the evening means no Instagram filter is needed! And added into the ends of my hair not only helps nourish it, but also gives a subtle shimmer too. This is the one I reach for when I want to feel extra.
The newest addition to the HP family is the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Florale and as you might guess from the name, this has a delicate floral fragrance with notes of magnolia, grapefruit peel and musk. Again, this can be used on the face, body and hair and if you’re looking for the ultimate treat for your locks, try applying this to dry hair as a mask for 10 minutes before you wash your hair. Soft, flowy locks in minutes!
Prodigieux Products
One of my favourite parts of summer holidays is having a shower at the end of a roasting hot day, and then getting ready to go out to dinner that night. And this is where I really go to town layering my products. As I am going nowhere this summer, I’m recreating that feeling at home if you don’t mind. The Prodigieux Precious Scented Shower Oil and Prodigieux Beautifying Scented Body Lotion work harmoniously together to leave your skin soft, smooth and smelling beautiful. These both have the same scent as the Huile Prodigieuse and the Prodigieux Scented Shower Oil not only gets rid of any SPF quickly and easily, but it leaves a light golden shimmer on the skin. And if that isn’t enough, the Prodigieux Beautifying Scented Body Lotion moisturises and illuminates the skin thanks to the precious botanical oils. There’s no need for fragrance when you’ve used these because you will smell incredible and if you close your eyes and use your imagination, you could be on holidays in the comfort of your own home!
Reve de Miel
A range that I’ve turned to over the last few weeks for indulgent self care is Rêve de Miel. I think that the Rêve de Miel Melting Honey Body Oil Balm is the best body moisturiser I’ve ever used and since it came into my life, I actually look forward to using it! As someone who isn’t a regular body moisturiser-er, this is huge. The scent. Is. Incredible. We’re talking florals, honey and vanilla and I love how it turns from a thick balm into an oil, melting into my skin as I work it in. I always pay extra attention to my elbows and ankles with this and it’s my favourite thing to apply before going to bed.
On days where my skin needs extra nourishment when I’m cleansing, I’ll use the Rêve de Miel Face Cleansing and Make Up Removing Gel. Not only does this honey scented gem of a product remove my makeup easily, but it works beautifully as a second cleanse too, leaving my skin soft, soothed and ready for my evening skincare routine. If you’ve dry or sensitive skin, this is such a treat, and even if you’ve oily skin like mine, sometimes it’s nice to use something that feels a bit more luxurious.
I think everyone has been reaching for the hand cream recently and as hand sanitising isn’t going anywhere for the foreseeable, it’s nice to have something that not only works on keeping your hands nourished, but that smells incredible too, and that’s where the Nuxe Rêve de Miel Hand and Nail Cream comes in. This has honey, previous oils and Vitamin E to repair dry and damaged hands and an added bonus is that it absorbs quickly, so if you’re working from home, you can be typing away without a care in the world after applying this!
For those out there who suffer from chronically dry lips, you need to try the Rêve de Miel Honey Lip Balm which has become a go to for me this year. I like applying a thick layer before bed, letting it work its magic before waking up to soft, smooth, hydrated lips. It’s super thick and almost feels like a mask, and contains honey, Propolis Oleoactive, precious botanical oils, shea butter and Beeswax. Did your lips soften up just by reading those ingredients? I can’t pick a favourite from these and when Oonagh asked me to pick my top 3 products, I asked if I could pick 5 and that turned into this bunch! But they’re products I stand behind, that I recommend all the time and that I absolutely love!
