GUT MATTERS, a night of conversation exploring the gut microbiome and its role in health and disease and the potential role of Symprove. This night promises to provide insight into the fastest-moving and most exciting areas of biology relevant to human health: the microbiome. Hear from Ireland's leading experts on the microbiome and its connection to women’s health, Crohn’s and Colitis (Forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease) nutrition and skincare.  

Join us for some nibbles, drinks and a goody bag worth €50 on arrival, followed by a panel discussion hosted by Clare McKenna culminating in a question and answer session with the audience.

Dr Orlaith Kelly - Dr Orlaith Kelly is an experienced consultant gastroenterologist working in Connolly Hospital with a subspecialty interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. 

Professor Siobhain M O’ Mahony, Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience & APC Microbiome Ireland (Research Ireland Centre), University College Cork 

Professor O’Mahony is a global leader in neurobiology and women’s health. 

Professor Jens Walter, Professor at the School of Microbiology, Department of Medicine, and PI at APC Microbiome Ireland (Research Ireland Centre), University College Cork. Professor Walter’s expertise lies at the interface of the evolutionary ecology of the gut microbiome and human nutrition. 

Dr Julie O’Sullivan, APC Microbiome Ireland (Research Ireland Centre) & School of Microbiology, University College Cork, Dr Julie O’Sullivan is the founder and commercial lead of SkinCoat, a science-driven skincare innovation emerging from University College Cork. 

Oonagh O’Hagan - Pharmacist & Meaghers Pharmacy Group MD - Oonagh O’ Hagan is a qualified pharmacist of over 20 years. A graduate from Trinity College Dublin who has a particular passion for female hormone health and the importance of good gut health.
